Remco Schreuders, MPT
Co-owner, Physical Therapist
A native of the Netherlands and currently a Salem, VA resident, Remco Schreuders co-founded APT of VA after serving the community at Lewis-Gale Medical Center for well over a decade. He specializes in manual physical therapy, orthopedics, vestibular therapy, gait and balance, sports physical therapy and running injuries. Schreuders is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and holds a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University. He spends his life living out his faith, spending time with his family, and exercising.
Tom Ellexson, MPT
Co-owner, Physical Therapist
Prior to co-founding APT of VA in 2006, Tom Ellexson was long associated with Lewis-Gale Medical Center and the former Lewis-Gale Clinic as a Physical Therapist and Senior Physical Therapist of their outpatient satellite clinic. More recently, Ellexson has been focused on out-patient orthopedics, vestibular, foot and ankle, Fascial Manipulation – Stecco, as well as a mixture of neurologically involved and generally deconditioned patients. Ellexson is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science and a Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys gardening, playing hockey, and supporting our Troops.
ANDREA LEGAULT, MPT
Physical Therapist
Andrea grew up in Roanoke, VA and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the College of William & Mary before completing her Master of Physical Therapy at Shenandoah University. Her diverse clinical background includes specialized training at the Mayo Clinic, hands-on experience in both in-patient and out-patient settings at UNC Hospitals, and work in local long-term care facilities. She has loved working at Advanced Physical Therapy for over 15 years providing high quality, one-on-one care in the areas of general orthopedics, sports medicine, geriatrics, and chronic disease management. Her specialty areas of interest include maxillo-facial/TMJ dysfunction, dance medicine, and running injuries. She has pursued advanced training through CRAFTA, the Stecco Method of Fascial Manipulation, and in dry needling. Outside the clinic, Andrea enjoys spending time with her family, playing music, and maintaining an active lifestyle.
Jennifer Urbanek, DPT
Physical Therapist
Hailing from Massillon, OH, Jennifer Urbanek graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Science in 2008. In 2011, she graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Walsh University. She joined APT of VA after spending two years at an out-patient clinic in Blacksburg, VA. Urbanek’s clinical interests include general orthopedics, sports medicine, running injuries, pain neuroscience, and vestibular. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children, running, and supporting Ohio teams (Buckeyes and Browns).
