Policy
This facility provides care to patients requiring outpatient rehabilitative services including physical therapy. The services provided by Advanced Physical Therapy of Virginia shall identify, prevent, remediate, and rehabilitate acute, sub-acute, and chronic pain and/or dysfunction. Therefore, the therapy provided will include examination and analysis of each patient and the therapeutic application of modalities, exercise, and other procedures to maximize functional independence.
Patient Population
The patient population served by this Facility consists of the pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient requiring or seeking conservative therapy intervention to diagnose, maintain or restore optimum level of wellness.
Patient Care
Advanced Physical Therapy of Virginia provides a safe and comfortable environment for both patients and personnel in order to provide optimum assistance to physical therapists in meeting the diagnostic, preventative, and restorative health needs of the patients. The facility staff provides quality-conscious, cost-effective, and competent care with respect for life and dignity at each stage of the human experience.
Services provided at this facility include treating patients with orthopedic injuries, podiatric problems, arthritis, neurological deficits, back and neck injuries, work-related injuries, sports medicine related injuries, and acute and chronic pain disorders.
Procedure
Each patient shall receive an initial evaluation prior to the provision of services. During that initial evaluation and ongoing, the following shall be addressed and documented as follows:
Treatment goals and plans in accordance with the diagnosis and prognosis, as well as the patient and family’s considerations, aiming those goals toward preventing or reducing disability or pain and restoring lost function.

Assessment and training in gait including, as necessary, the use of assistive devices.
Patient and family education as appropriate.
Physical therapy staff shall monitor the extent to which the services provided have met the goals relative to all examinations including improvement of the identified physical and cognitive dysfunction and the degree of pain reduction.
